Some
FAQ’s
We think you’ll be able to get to know us best by visiting with us, but for now, here are some frequently asked questions. If you have other questions that aren’t answered on this page, feel free to contact us!
Where are you located?
What’s your
worship service like?
We are located along the Wasatch Front in Murray, UT, a suburb of Salt Lake City. Our address is 494 E 5300 S, Murray, UT 84107. Our building is just south of Murray Park and Parkside Elementary.
Through bible study and prayer, our congregation has reached the belief that women, as well as men, should be encouraged to serve during our worship service. During our service, you will see the men and women of our congregation serving together.
We believe that the purpose of our Sunday morning worship is to gather together in fellowship to praise and glorify God. We use our worship service to focus on our savior, Jesus Christ, his love and spiritual example, and to reflect on our mission of continuing his ministry. We worship so that God may be glorified.
We sing a mix of traditional and contemporary hymns and do so a cappella (voices-only, without instrumental accompaniment).
We take communion, The Lord's Supper, together each Sunday. We eat unleavened bread to symbolize the body of Christ. We drink grape juice to symbolize the blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross. Participation in this part of our service is open to anyone who feels compelled to take part. Our focus during this time in our service is on Jesus, his atoning sacrifice, and the promise we have in the resurrection.
During our service we have scripture readings and public prayers. At the end of our service, we offer an opportunity for anyone to request prayers about specific needs. If you'd like us to pray for you privately, you can let us know about your need here.
Our Minister, Ryne Parrish, preaches most Sundays. His lessons are encouraging, scriptural, and focused on challenging us to live more like Jesus. Occasionally other members of our congregation will take a turn preaching. Visit our Sermons page to listen to previously recorded sermons.
We don't have a dress code for our worship service. Some of us like to dress up, some of us prefer jeans. All of us just want to worship God together.
What time do you meet?
We currently meet Sunday mornings for bible classes (adult & youth) at 9:30 AM and for worship at 10:30 AM. Everyone is welcome to join us! We also have a Zoom meeting available for our 10:30 AM worship service for anyone who wishes to join us remotely.
Visit our Worship page for information on how to join our Zoom meeting.
For the past two summers we have enjoyed worshipping together on our front lawn. Take a look at what worship on the lawn was like over the summer:
We believe it is important to stay connected with each other in meaningful ways throughout the week. To that end, we have three separate small-groups meeting at different times during the week. These Connect Groups allow us to study and fellowship with each other. For more information on joining us for one of these Connect Groups, visit this page.
What are your food pantry’s hours?
We have partnered with the Utah Food Bank to be a distribution location for them. The food in our pantry is delivered to us by the Utah Food Bank and we distribute it out of the annex building on our property on Thursdays. The pantry is still operating during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Please visit our Ministries page to view the Food Pantry Non-Discrimination Disclosure
The address for the food pantry is: 494 E 5300 S, Murray, UT 84107
The food pantry hours are: Thursdays from 9 AM - 5 PM.
Anyone is welcome to come get food. You do not need to bring any ID or documentation with you. When you arrive at the food bank you will be greeted by volunteers who are ready to help you.
If you are in need of assistance from a food pantry outside our pantry’s hours, please visit the Utah Food Bank website for alternate locations.
We are always in need of volunteers to help us with weekly distribution on Thursdays. If you’re interested in volunteering, simply come to the food pantry anytime on Thursday between 9 AM - 5PM and we’ll put you to work! This is a great opportunity to log some community-service hours or just get out of the house for an hour or so.
Do you have Elders?
We have three Elders that have been selected by our congregation to shepherd us on our walk with God. Learn more about those who serve our church here.
Can I rent your building?
